Denver vs. Seattle: Synchronized Traffic Lights, P
1.6 mile drive down Broadway in Denver, CO. The lights are timed such that if you are averaging the speed limit, each light will turn green and you can keep moving. The citizens and the government of Seattle will never understand this. People in the Puget Sound Area TALK incessantly about global warming and the end of the world, but no one DOES anything about it. One very EASY, effective way to reduce emissions, RIGHT NOW, would be to synchronize traffic lights, as they have in Denver. Note the total driving time is only 2 minutes, 55 seconds (compared to 8 minutes for the same distance on Madison Street, a less-traveled arterial street in Seattle (See Denver vs. Seattle, Synchronized Lights, Part II).
